Global Energy Initiative

The Independent Petroleum Association of America has given us the resources to deepen and enrich programs on global energy. Events have included an all-day teacher workshop, Energy in Crisis; in-services at local school districts and state social studies conferences; and emphasis on energy geopolitics in all programs.

Why Study Energy?

When you consider the most difficult challenges facing our future, securing dependable, safe, affordable energy is at the top of our list. Finding solutions to our energy needs will go a long way to solving society's other problems too.

Other Energy Resources
As part of our Global Energy Initiative, we will offer field trips, educator workshops, and student competitions that make learning about energy fun and interactive. Our web site will have a special energy section, updated frequently, to link you with the best energy resources available. The site will cover all aspects of energy, from traditional sources such as fossil fuels to the latest information on renewables.

Also we will include more energy information in our existing programs such as Academic WorldQuest. We will increase the number of speaker-to-school visits by energy experts and create more lesson plans on energy.

Access to energy is a global concern affecting developed and developing countries alike. We believe Houston area students and teachers should have the most current information on all aspects of energy, so that they can be a part of the solution. Join us as we explore energy today.
